What questions were raised because of the 10 hours of experience?  List them.

Is child psychology in demand right now?
What is the professional and appropriate way to interact with children?
·       Can you specify what age group you would like to work with when you become a certified child psychologist?
·       How much schooling does a career in this field require?
·       What kind of classes would I be required to take to make a living in this profession?
·       Is there a certain area in the U.S. where child psychologists are needed?
·       What are some good techniques in becoming a successful psychologist?
·       Are kids allowed to take medicine for their conditions?

What is the most important thing you gained from this experience? Why?
  • My summer mentorship was spent being a youth camp counselor at a summer camp held in my community. With being a camp counselor comes learning how to be patient and being an authoritative figure. Learning patience was the most important thing I gained from this experience because patience is something you need throughout life, especially with children. Working with forty kids on a daily basis really sets in stone the need to be patient at any given moment and to be understanding that they are just kids and don't know any better.

How did what you did help you choose a topic?  Please explain.
  • Working at the summer camp made me sure that I want my senior topic to be on child psychology because I really enjoyed working with the kids. Connecting with adolescents is a special experience and being able to help them out would mean the world to me. Looking at the sciences behind what goes through a child's mind and how they see the world would be a fascinating and life fulfilling path for me.
