Blog 2: Topic Choice

a. What is your topic and why?

b. And what do you hope to accomplish this year with this topic (connecting your answer to each of the 4 ESLRs)

a)     My topic is child psychology because I have a deep fascination with psychology, especially in children, and I would love to further my knowledge in the subject because I think that there are a lot of children in the world that need help and aren’t able to acquire that help easily.

b)    iPoly Citizen: I plan to really take matters into my own hands this year and be responsible for what I’m supposed to be doing as far as the senior project because no one else is responsible for it except me. This improves my being an iPoly citizen because I plan on promoting my knowledge of understanding what I am supposed to be doing and what is going on around me.

Effective communicator: Since I plan on learning more about the psychology field, I will be introduced with new ways to become an effective communicator through determining what different types of personalities there are. If I am able to decipher what kind of people I’m working with, I will be able to cooperate with them appropriately.

Effective learner: I already plan on taking responsibility for the learning of my chosen topic this year and I hope to further my knowledge in the child psychology field beyond my expectations. This will make me an effective learner because I am truly interested in the topic and it will help me be consistent in my thirst for knowledge in this topic.

Effective user of technology: Without technology, being able to complete my senior project would be nearly impossible and because I am fortunate enough to have technology readily available at my fingertips, I will use my sources to the best of theirs and my ability. This will lead to me being an effective user of technology because I hope to use my resources for the importance of needing to get my senior project completed efficiently instead of hanging out on Tumblr all evening.
