(1) Write a description of what you plan on doing for your independent study component.
1) For my second independent component, I am going to work another 30 hours at my mentorship.
(2) Describe in detail how you think your plan will meet the 30 hours work requirement.
2) If I start going to mentorship three days a week, I will be able to complete 30 hours of work in no time. I generally do something different every time I go, meaning that I stay there for however long they need more or however long it takes me to complete the tasks I've been asked to do. Though the amount of time I spend there is inconsistent, from my experience, I have never been there for less than an hour. Knowing this, acquiring the 30 hours of work will definitely be completed by April 26th.
(3) How does your independent study component relate to your working EQ?
3) My independent study component relates to my working EQ because my mentor, Patti Azevedo, can help me with finding the best solutions to helping suicidal youth from her own experience in helping them. I feel that asking a parent who has a suicidal child could be insensitive, depending on how recent the child has been/felt suicidal. Because Patti has worked with various suicidal children and isn't as emotionally distraught over the child like a parent would be, she would be the best candidate to help me in search for my other answers to my essential question.
